I am a Helsinki-based visual artist, born in Rovaniemi. My works are painting-based installations and paintings on canvas and paper. In the acrylic paintings, my distinctive style is created by several layers of acrylic paint on very thin paper, causing the paper almost to blend into the paint. As a result, the surface resembles an organic web, as if the veins of a leaf. The watercolors are, for example, pastiches of scenes from the Italian Renaissance and Spain’s Moorish period.
